Planet fitness - great gym with spa and massage |
$235 for Equinox in DC |
$115 family membership at the Bethesda Y |
None currently.
In past, we've purchased memberships at the county rec dept (Arlington). Teens 13-17 can get a membership good until they turn 18 for a one-time fee of $10 ($13 for non-resident). Seniors can join for $60 (individual) and $90 (household = spouse and I). Non-senior resident is $195/year. Includes access to any of the County community center fitness centers, not the Aquatics facilities. Very reasonable drop-in rates as well, or for classes. |
My F45 actually lowered rates during Covid. Not sure why but I’m not complaining. Classes are full so they’re not hurting for members. |
$200 monthly, I go everyday for 2 hours |
zero. I'm a fitness instructor there so get free classes. |
DH and I recently signed up for the St James and pay something like $430. Sounds crazy but we added the Recovery membership, which I’m very excited about. I love cryotherapy sessions which are typically pricey on their own. At the gym it’ll be unlimited, along with other recovery offerings. |
Ask to renegotiate. I pay $240/year for that location and wouldn't pay a penny more. It's such a dump, but I feel like I get my money's worth with the weights. |
I have been going to orange theory for years and my unlimited class rate is $149. I go 3-4 times per week.
I am considering changing to club pilates |
$10/month - planet fitness. Zero times a week because once the post-pandemic crowd came back it is pointless to lift weights. So I use the gym at work. I should quit but I keep thinking I may use it. |
I go because they have my preferred cardio machine - the Arc Trainer. I do weights with dumbbells and kettlebells in the side section away from the crowd. It’s better if you can go off hours |
15 per month. I use the fitness center in my local community center. I try to go three times a week, but I probably average two times a week. I only do my weight training there as I like to use weightlifting machines versus free weights I don’t need to do my cardio there because I have an elliptical and a treadmill at home and I like to walk outside. |
Y in Urbana. $80. / month for my family. I go 4-5 days a week and use the weights, cardio machines, some classes, pool almost eve try time and locker rooms/showers. My kid uses the cool play zone. Love that place! |
