Would you go to an outside birthday party at a park in mid-November?

I'd probably play it by ear and go if it wasn't too cold. Can you recruit a relative or close friend to host your son's party at their house?

OP here-thank you for all the responses and good ideas. The PP who suggested a park with an indoor facility had a really good idea as well the PP's who suggested coffee for the adults. I will look into that in Fairfax or Arlington County. And, I think having my place as the back up in case it rains or is too cold would be a good precautionary measure. Thanks so much-I love Fall and love any excuse to be outside for a couple hours on a brisk day but honestly didn't know if I was in the minority. So, thanks again!

OP - Frying Pan Park in Herndon has a farm with animals, a tractor ride (perfect for fall, I think) and a playground. Plus they have a nice indoor room you can use to serve cake and ice cream. I think room rental is only $75 for two hours! You can see the animals for and play on the playground for free. The tractor ride is $3/person.

My son who is 9 has a mid nov birthday. I don't think we ever had an outdoor party. Frankly a lot of people don't have parties for their young kids so don't feel obligated to do so. I guess i would go but it might be hard on you as the hostess if kids are cold and whiny.

One suggestion that was low cost was the kensington firehouse. they have a big playroom downstairs and they asked for $75 donation (but this was a few years ago). Lots of room to run around in so we had a few games, played with balls and the firemen gave a tour of the fire engines.

I would rather take my son (and attend) an outside birthday party in November rather than in July/August when it's hot and miserable!
