There are so many colleges, OP. Your little favorite is not the only one to invest in its facilities, by far. It's just that you happened to get to know this one. |
| In California a few years ago, Claremont McKenna was a top choice for a lot of kids. Small, good school if you are planning to go to law school afterwards. |

Can you expand on this travel? I know they pay kids who take low paying summer internships, but how does the free travel work?
Thanks! |

The school subsidizes these types of trips, so CMC pays for the ticket in your name. The opportunities vary-the New York trip was for the CMC ringing the NYSE bell, one his classes went on a trip to Singapore, and he created a project analyzing consumer behavior that the college funded through an experience grant. All were amazing opportunities where he got to connect with CMC alum. It's a small school, but it's almost fascinating where you can find them. |
Seriously. There's no reason to hype up an overpriced California school. Next they'll tell us the wonders of Washington&Lee
|
Never understand DCUM hate for W&L. I have no connection to the college, but it is very high quality, and students have great outcomes. Not every LAC has to be Williams. |
So did I. And I went to college in Claremont. You are an ignorant idiot. |
DCUM hates the totally imaginary W&L in which every student is a 1950s-style conservative frat boy or sorority sister. |
Claremont McKenna has always been regarded as one of the top SLACs. It's just in California and the DCUM (emphasis on "DC" area) don't discuss such schools much. |
Sorry student and wouldn't get accepted even if you tried. Got it. |
Is it? I feel like the LAC quality drops fast after Bowdoin and Middlebury. Would never send my kids to Hamilton or Colby or...Claremont Mckenna. Sure, they're ranked well, but there's no advantage to paying for it over UMD. |
| Np, but what is with the alleged alumni insulting people right and left? Bad look for the school. |
Eh, you might consider consulting something more objective than your feelings on the matter. If your kid wants to go to law school or business school or get a high-paying job in finance, CMC is extremely strong: #3 for MBA placement: https://www.collegetransitions.com/dataverse/top-feeders-business-school #12 for Wall Street/IB placement: https://www.collegetransitions.com/dataverse/top-feeders-business-school #17 for law school placement: https://www.collegetransitions.com/dataverse/top-feeders-law-school |
