Antisemitism at APS and yearbooks

Calling for the elimination of Israel is. I think what’s happening is disgusting, but Israel has a right to exist and Jews have a right to live there.

Okay, then tell your government to stop killing Palestinians and while you're at it, don't attack Arab minors in Arlington who want to express themselves in ways you don't like. Conflating antisemitism with antizionism isn't it. It makes the whole term antisemitism meaningless.

Wanting freedom is antisemitic?

Wanting to wipe out Israel is antisemitic. That’s the meaning of the quote.

You, AIPAC and ADL can keep saying that, but all Palestinians want is to live in freedom and peace. And since Israel will never give that to them, that's where the uprising comes from. I'll say it myself: "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free."

Also, students have the right to free speech. This isn't even hate speech. It's a call for a two state solution. I say good for the Yorktown Yearbook staff for letting the student express themselves. Hurt feelings is not antisemitism.

Well the principal apologized and said it was an oversight. I am not sure they were purposely doing something by letting the student express themselves or they simply weren't paying attention.

Some people's freedom of speech will evermore be more important than others. Particularly for people of color.

Especially if you have money to influence the discussion.

That's a shame. The principal should have stayed out of it. Way to silence a student!

Congrats, Arlington for showing who you are yet again.

I am not sure a debate about this slogan is appropriate for the schools forum. So I am going to lock this thread.

Coincidentally, I provide my own view about this slogan in the third entry of this blog post earlier this week:
