Oh this sort of thing drives me NUTS.
BY FAR the most dangerous part of going to a professional sporting event in America is the drive there and back. Things like “neighborhood crime” and “fan behavior” do not come CLOSE in terms of actual, real risk. Which means the safest arenas are the ones near robust public transit. Which means DC is actually probably among the safest. We are so bad at evaluating risk as a society, it’s insane. |
No it isn't. The biggest risk is usually other fans. Talk about an inability to evaluate risk. Jeez, it's almost as if you've never been to a game. |
I lived in Chinatown for 15 years. Crime has gone up and down, but honestly - that area the last 3-4 years has just gotten worse. I'm with you, the want to proclaim DC wonderful is strong with me, but I've been held at knife point, my neighbor was assaulted, and blocks from the Arena a young woman was raped on the playground. First step to dealing with the crime issue is admitting it exists. |
NFL is certainly more dangerous in terms of fan violence, but it’s still real and present for NBA and NHL. |
I would ask for my ticket money back. No way am I exposing myself and my kids to hours of second hand weed smoke. |
Lol, good luck with that. But continue crying. |
