Either way, she was PREGNANT LAST YEAR. Well, clearly you’ve proved this baby at work thing is true! Eye roll. |
More parents need to complain to the super. Very few actually do, but first hand complaints matter. |
Definitely, that baby is not there all day. Maybe the teacher has a care agreement that has someone picking up the baby at school and bringing her back to school. Maybe it’s an Oakridge parent. Regardless, there’s enough serious stuff here to discuss without being ridiculous. PS: Being a teacher and a new mom is hard enough. (Being an Oakridge teacher is more than hard enough!) Let’s not add on stories that are nuttier than a five-pound fruitcake. |
Yes she was pregnant the end of the last academic year. I was at a birthday party that had Oakridge parents there in around February. The family that invited my family to the birthday had left Oakridge. They were catching up with other Oakridge families and they were talking about the teacher who was pregnant the last academic year. One of the dads was complaining that he sees that same teacher bringing her baby to school in the morning and taking her out of school in the afternoon. Said doesn’t know what type of arrangement she has but sees that baby come in and come out. I interjected stating that that’s ridiculous and that they should complain to Dr Duran. I then learned that they have been complaining and that there is a parent group that was formed and that complained to Dr Duran, the school board etc. No one cares. This was prior to the incident at the outdoor lab which we all know about. I obviously didn’t sit and interrogate him about the teacher and the baby since it seemed to be just part of a larger story of how terrible the school is. |
Parents banded together to complain about their theories about a teacher with a baby rather than known facts about the principal? The baby thing is a red herring and the PP who brought it up isn't doing anyone here or at Oakridge any favors when there are real problems to be acknowledged. |
. The outdoor lab incident was over a year ago. Are you saying this conversation with the dad was Feb 2023, not Feb 2024, and the school year in which the baby was spotted coming and going was actually 2022-2023 (last school year), not this year as originally claimed? None of this hearsay story is making sense, and I'm annoyed that I'm giving it credence by asking this follow-up. |
Umm no. Sorry for not being clear enough. They had banded together to complain about the issues with the school in general. |
Yes they didn’t band together regarding the baby story. They banded together regarding issues with the school in general. The father was just mentioning the baby story to the other parents. They were all complaining about the school in general and telling the parents whose kids left Oakridge that they are still facing the same issues. I was the only parent with no connection to oakridge. I said that this all sounded ridiculous and they should complain to Dr Duran. They responded by telling me that they had been complaining about the school and parents had banded together to complain to Dr Duran and the school board. I had mentioned the outdoor lab incident as something I had heard about in oakridge but said that no they were complaining to school board before that. The banding together had happened in the past (before the conversation we were having). The complaining about the baby was during the conversation. So no, the parents didn’t band together to complain about the teacher bringing her baby to school to Dr Duran. Plus other than the baby coming in and out of school it didn’t seem like the parent had more info. Get it? |
Mine did, different school, and really bad situation. Principal was eventually dismissed in a big kerfluffle but it took YEARS and a lot of damage was done. |
Kindly, I think you could have sat this thread out given your lack of connection to Oakridge and extremely secondhand info. |
While it’s been a few years since I’ve been at Oakridge, the baby story sounds really far fetched. I can think of a few reasons one might see a baby at the beginning and end of the school day, such as a nanny or work-from-home parent bringing the baby in to nurse. This would be very plausible if the baby’s parents live in the neighborhood. It could also be related the a carpool situation. Either way, I would imagine someone with actual knowledge would corroborate this baby story if it were more than just hearsay. |
Oakridge parent here and I disagree. It's so hard to get information about what is going on behind the scenes, and if someone has info they should share it. I don't care where their kid goes to school. I'm an adult and I don't believe everything I hear online, but the fact that some people make up BS doesn't mean that people shouldn't share info they have. I am skeptical about the baby thing but PP is 100% right about everything else, so the baby thing is now something I will have to ask about. |
The baby thing is likely a nonissue. The bigger problem is that Oakridge families, as stated above, find it hard to get information at the school. |
