What surprised you most about your trip to Nantucket?

What is ACK?

The airport code. And people put it on their cars to show how fancy they are.

Next to a pink whale.

Oh, that's funny! I can see this.

The people who love Nantucket (or the Cape of the Vineyard) are the people who summer there or go for a couple of weeks every year. With a day trip or a weekend it's hard to have the same experience.

You mean Ellin Hildebrand lied to me?

What surprised me? How boring it is.

I understand going to the Cape and islands if you live in Boston or RI. I do NOT understand making the trek from farther away if you don't have family there, a place to stay, etc.

native New Englander here. I 100% agree-- Nantucket is super boring.

Isn't everyone there a liberal Dem?

There's Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. One for Dems and one for Reps.

I thought Nantucket had quite a purplish environment last year.

The most exciting part of Nantucket is the variety of colorful window boxes and planters with well chosen species. I spent most of my time taking pictures of them and riding a rented bike.

How much I loved it. I went in with pretty high expectations and they were exceeded. It's a special place

Would love to know what you did, where you stayed, etc. I feel like I must have done it wrong.

It's nice? I go every summer from our home in Chatham but I've never seen it as a destination unless you own there and have nostalgia around it.

How crowded the little downtown is plus the huge suvs in such a quaint spot.

Which is which? I hated both so figures. We got trapped on that island like Gilligan. No ferry after 6 pm also everything closes at 5. Surprised we are still married after that trip that was the surprise

Another fiasco Op. the bike guy doesn’t rent after 5. I still have my texts with him begging for bikes. It’s definitely a DAY TRIP. Heavy on the DAY.

You sound like a shrew and miserable to travel with. Stick with your week of summer vacations in Destin.

I have great memories of our trip there. Kids were with grandparents and it was just DH and I remember a lovely bike ride. It was so quiet. Here when you are outside there is always something. Traffic lawn mover dogs. Never silent. We ate great food, enjoyed sunsets on the beach. I mean if you are looking for NYC do not go there but we really enjoyed.
