Where to stay and go at ocean city

I’d stay at the Hilton or Aloft.

The boardwalk due in no the day will be fun. I would not go after dinner.

There is Alley oops, bowling, indoor putt putt and indoor ice skating if it rains.

There are a ton of things to do with kids.

The Rocket is a boat ride, there is a boat that takes kids to search for sand crabs, jolly rogers, you can rent kayaks or wave runners, you can do a fishing trip for 2 hours, rent bikes, endless summer has surf lessons for kids, there are fishing tournaments and it’s fun to see the boats come in with their catch.

We do the boardwalk after dinner all the time and have never had any issue. Mostly young families out getting ice cream and fudge as the sun goes down. We’re always back by 8 (small kids) so maybe after that it turns to Armageddon?

It’s not rowdy before sundown, it doesn’t really get rowdy until the drunk movies come out much later.

Plus OC boardwalk has always been trashy, fringed belly shirts, tattoos and piercings have been OC for as long as I can remember, but that’s part of what makes it amusing.

It’s a public beach, not the country club. I wouldn’t live there but makes for good people watching and a fun evening.

Disagree- we when went last summer there were drunk and high people all over the boardwalk and it was around lunchtime. Pot smell everywhere.
.

I live near a high school and have smelled more pot at the neighborhood playground than at OC. Come on.

Lots of regular cigarette droppings at OC though.

I inferred it was the horse smell.

What an ugly and elitist comment. If you really think that way why SoCal of all places??? So tacky!! Visit Hawaii, stay on this coast and go to Aruba or St Thomas, go south to Mexico (stunning) or Italy (exquisite). The local beaches are wonderful and have lots of hidden gems, but it’s not the Caribbean but no one is billing it as such!!!

Agree 100%. Yes, California beaches have a lot natural beauty, but if you get over your elitist attitudes, you can have a lot of fun at local beaches. I have a relative that lives near Big Sur, most beautiful beach in the U.S., IMHO. As pretty as it is, unless you have a wetsuit, nobody is swimming in that freezing water. I grew up going to OC and Delaware, but even if I remove the nostalgia, I think the water can be great. Also love Hatteras Island, which has even warmer water.
