It is our first ocean city family trip, and kids are 5 and 7. We go in mid june for 3 days 2 night, and do not plan to drive our car around after checking in. We need family restaurant, and hotel with pool. We want to do boardwalk. Where should we stay in ocean city, north or south ?
We are not checking out the wild horse trip beach because kids hate horse smile. We don't mind kid activities like go kart, arcade or kiddy ride. We don't want to do mini golf. |
| I'd highly recommend to instead go to Rehoboth beach with kids that age as they would thoroughly enjoy beach Boardwalk Funland rides and nearby kids attractions. |

Going to be a tough time there with senior week kids. Expect to see a lot of drunk high school kids. I would stay in a nicer hotel to stay away from the high schoolers. Look at the hilton oceanfront.

Brass Balls actually has great outdoor seating on the boardwalk with good kid's meals |
| As far north in OC as you can get. In North OC: Alley Oops Uptown (bowling, arcade, restaurant, bar), Crab Bag, Northside Park, Pablo's Bowls North, Tailchasers. Devitos & Ponzettis for carryout. In Fenwick: Viking Golf has go carts and there's a water slide place nearby if they're ready for that. Matt's Fish Camp, Ropewalk, Twilleys Willy's, Grab n Go Taco, High Tide Coffee & Bowls. There's a playground in front of the police station. |
| The kids hate horse smile??!! What? |
|
Yeah stay away for the restaurant playgrounds in OC. The kids who inhabit those spaces are the spawn Children of the Corn, Satan, and the Wildings and rolled into one inside the body of Chucky III.

|
If you stay in North OC, you are about a 20 min drive in traffic from the Boardwalk, just FYI. We love North OC more than South OC - and the person above gave some great restaurants.
In North OC you can also try Dumsers or Kohr Brothers for ice cream/frozen custard. |
Make that Chucky 1, 2 and 3. |
What is wrong with you? |
Have you ever been to one of those playgrounds? If you have and you see no problem with the little wildlings then you to might have a little Chucky 1, 2, and 3. Maybe more than one… |
I’m also going to need to know more about horse smile. |
| The boardwalk gets pretty rowdy and isn't really a joy. The only people that I know that enjoy are those in their 40s and 50s blinded by nostalgia. |
Yes, that caught my attention! I hope they have never seen reruns of Mr. Ed! |

OP you don't want Ocean City you should go to Rehoboth.
You can park your car walk to everything you need. Much more family oriented. Much cleaner. Much easier to navigate with kids as it is smaller. Bethany is too small. Rehoboth is just right. |
| The Carousel hotel has always been a place for families. It’s in north OC and has pools and a playground. The property is dated, but no more so than plenty of other hotels. Take the city bus down to the boardwalk one day from about 2-6. Go to an arcade, eat some fries, maybe you and DH grab a drink, then clear out. Two family friendly restaurants near Carousel are Original Crabcake Factory and Dumsers. Nick’s Dino Golf is nearby. |
