Did one IVF cycle, collected 30 eggs one day shy of my 41st birthday, transferred 2, about to deliver a singleton baby and nine day 6 blasts frozen. |
Yes, got pregnant at 41 with my own eggs. Easy pregnancy. No issues. It took two rounds of IVF. I didn't consider DE, but would have if we weren't successful. But I know several women 40+ who've used IVF and their own eggs to conceive happy, healthy babies. |
Success at 40 and 41 seems to be much higher than 42 and above. I know of women who did succeed but the statistics tell the tale, they are the exception.
I know as many women who conceived at 42+ naturally as did with IVF. |
Pregnant at 41 and one month on first IVF attempt with my own eggs. I had high AMH and no fertility problems except for a small fibroid blocking one tube. So important to consider the totality of your individual case in assessing likelihood of success - age statistics are only one part of the picture.

For Anonymous dated 02/01/2016 what was your AMH and was medication and dosages did you use?Thankyou. |
Only a chemical at 41. |
I had a miscarriage on my first IVF at 41. I think it is common after 39.
For subsequent IVFs, I plan to use CCS (genetic screening). You can get pregnant at 40+ but miscarriages are more common. |
I'm age 44 and did one IVF cycle. Due any day now with my own eggs. My strong advice: do PGS testing before implantation. I did not -- you don't want to have to do it on the back end. |
Pregnant and delivered @ 39 with OE. Pregnant with 41 year old OE, will deliver just after turning 43. |
41 yo and currently preg with OE from IVF FET.
I had a failed fresh cycle - actually I had a chemical - and failed IUIs over the previous years. I was ready to give up. I dont know what my AmH numbers were, but it was good enough that my dr at shady grove thought there should be a good egg in there. I am not doing fertility treatments again, I am going to be happy with one kid. |
I got pregnant at 41 with an AMH if less than .01 last time tested 2 years prior. Healthy baby boy. It was a spontaneous conception. I did have 2 miscarriages at 39. |
I am 41.5 and got pregnant on my 4th round of IUI with femara. I hope to keep this pregnancy. I also had 3 miscarriages in the past ![]() God help us all! |
Two rounds of IVF at 41.2 and 41.6. Five PGS normal blasts. One healthy child. I am thinking of having another from the embyros I banked.
We had Male Factor infertility (very severe). I think there are plenty of lucky women who get pregnant with their OE at 41 (and even 42) but there are lots of women who go the donor egg route too. I was lucky that IVF worked for me. |
That’s great! Congrats! Do you recall your AMH levels? |
I don't have a perfect memory of my numbers but I remember that I was told in my initial consult that I had a 75% chance of having a child if I did three cycles but then after my first cycle, the doctor told me he was confident that I would have a baby through IVF. I think my egg quality was that of a 30-year old or thereabouts (I am not sure how one measures this anyway in a reliable way). Again, I was lucky on this front. I think my numbers were: FSH: 6-9; AFC: 12-22; AMH: .8 - 1 As folks here know, none of these numbers predict egg quality. And as the numbers above show, I had a range. |
