=1000 love it! |
For people who grew up in the 70s. |

It’s really bad on my phone. I couldn’t register for summer school at all, had to use my computer instead. It still looks bad on the desktop, everything is ginormous and ugly and clunky, but at least it functions.
My husband is a UX consultant, and won’t even touch it. I swear he was physically cringing as he backed away and asked me to please finish the registration. |
with advanced degrees that focus on human-computer interaction and design |
sounds like user-error |
I appreciate its simplicity and clarity. |
I see MCPS tech people have found this thread. |
It's bad on the desktop but much much worse on the phone. |
| It is fairly similar to most MCPS initiatives in that it's antiquated and clunky and makes complex what could be simple. |
And what feature is that? |
| It was so bad before not sure how they made it worse but they did |
Maybe related to grades? Older kids look at grades almost every day if not a few times a day and you used to be able to filter all task assignments on mobile because those grades are worth the most. In the first version of StudentVue it actually gave you a total of all tasks and all PP grades and how much they were worth in the weighting system so you could track things how you should be able to track them. The private schools our DC's cousins attend all let you do this FWIW. Then in the second version they took that away and make the grades more clunky. Now you can't filter by assignment type at all. |
If it is, it's common enough that the design was the problem. Other people here reported the same issue. |
older people aren't tech savvy but it's super obvious for anyone used to computers |
All too often such an effort works fine from the front end, but doesn't have meaningful security on the back end. |
