Daughter’s wedding

She shouldn't bother being upset. Every idiot knows businesses upsell for weddings.

Very very often it is the older bride/groom that definitely try to NOT spend $ on wedding as they realize day v lifetime (or at least until divorce)

The book probably has a lot of really good advice. There are a million ways to overspend on a wedding, and a million ways not too... regardless of your income. Try reading it before you get upset.

And why are you upset? Where is the problem here?

What?

The friend probably thought it contained helpful tips.

No one likes wasting money.

Are you such hopeless snobs that you think getting a good deal is for people below your station in life??

Must say, I find it hard to believe a fellow Pittsburgher would be insulted by someone giving their daughter that book. Don't be a jagofft; just ignore it. Only someone from Mt Lebanon would be so touchy about this. You aren't from Mt Lebanon are you? Andy???

I thought the current thing is donut walls. Or are those out now?

A budget wedding costs $30,000. Unless you can spend $100,000 without a thought, it’s wise to look for ways to reduce costs.

She is in pharmaceutical sales and her fiancée is a lawyer.

My husband is a retired engineer and I am a retired teacher. We still live in the same house and have a nice retirement.

One of my daughter’s friends sent her a “How to have a wedding on a budget” book recently. She is kind of upset about it and I am too. Not sure how to take this.

Why would this upset you? Ridiculous.

I used to have a small catering business and how I wish all my wedding customers have been like you,! I could have given you a $250,000 in a heartbeat.
