Possibly being counseled out of Georgetown Prep?

OP here-son has no behaviroal issues at all but unfortunately is doing quite badly in 2 classes: one which would not be required at many other schools and one which is a core class.

Well, for the core class, it’s tutors; maybe even a summer program w the new school. If the other is something religious, that’s great news and you could use it excuse the other thing — felt pressured, felt unwelcome, felt unscientific. I don’t know but lots of ways to spin it

Oh, please. Why wouldn’t they accept a kid?

Also I would rank both Landon and Bullis higher than Prep

No - Landon is peer w/ Prep and Bullis below both of them.

You don’t know what? What question are you answering?

Do you mean they have bumper stickers on like 75% of other parents?!?

OP, I agree with others, but it depends on the reason. But if it is only academic I would start with testing for LDs if this is a new issue. I would also look to a school that has a strong learning support program. SJC or DJO perhaps. It might be easier to get into the SJC benilde program as an upperclassman as some students don’t remain in the program all 4 years.

No, not the normal bumper stickers. Painted on the windows, streamers. For months.

Ha ha they probably have a senior and they decorate it! We have kids at other schools and this is common.

This is a troll post. The time of year to discourage folks from going to certain schools.

Yes, this doesn’t happen.

Such a turn off.
Did a tour and decided hard pass.

+1 my neighbors have MAGA signs all over their car Prep is the school they send their kid too. Their other DC goes to Holy Cross

I’m talking about painted on their windows and streamers. Not bumper stickers.

Maybe The Heights or St Anselm's, depending on the issue. Academic vs behavioral makes a huge difference here.

By all means, counsel out a kid for an academic issue and transfer them to a harder school with less academic flexibility. Troll.

If you have ever taken a high school theology class at a rigorous school, you would realize your spin makes no sense in context. "We were discussing [Aristotle and Aquinas][ethics][the foundations of the Hebrew bible][the parable as a teaching tool], and it was too pressured, unwelcome, and unscientific." At most rigorous high schools, theology is a very difficult class, so OP might consider a tutor. The reading can be heavy and quite advanced for most freshmen, but getting to a point of being able to handle the material will show growth and really help your son apply complex reading comprehension and analysis skills in other classes. (I don't know if this is how Prep's courses are, but this is our experience).

But, the reality, OP is that a lot of colleges will not consider this grade much if it is poor, particularly because so few applicants will have taken the class, so they will mostly analyze the universal core courses.
