Same. Dress for your body type.

I look like a dumpy midget in wide leg.

I look 3 inches taller and thin in skinny, bootcut or boyfriend styles.

Skinnies are a staple. Look at Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton and WASP women.

She has legs made for skinny jeans!

My opinion is that this person looks like a conformist fashion victim. She would probably say that I look basic and boring. To each their own.

OP your issue is probably that you are short. Make sure you buy petite pants instead of hemming longer pants, which will make the opening bigger.

These are a nice, classic cut for short people. I am 5’2 and have a similar pair of trouser cut jeans from Banana Republic circa 2003. I have been wearing those jeans for over 20 years!

Love these. Do they stretch out much? That’s my issue w/old navy but maybe these are better than their denim used to be?

the third one is ok. the rest are awful.

remember, trends look horrible on some people and some are just objectively horrible. like the bike short trend, or the cold-shoulder cutout trend.

My old navy skinnies stretched out t the knee becuase they're tight and the bending knee stretches them out. Since these don't stretch when I bend the shape has stayed nice.

Oh god. Bike shorts…

She’s an absolutely gorgeous woman but she often comes across as grotesque somehow. That said, I hope I have anything close to her body when I’m her age.

OP, you have reached the age where you are allowed to wear what you like and NGAF what the kids think.

These are really cute!

I think something fitted in the hips and thigh with wide bottom is less likely to look frumpy.
Example

Or something with a more refined element, along the lines of the trouser jeans mentioned

A very dark wash will also make this style more wearable

I'm 5'2", 49, and am very over skinny jeans. I wear cropped bootcut and straight styles. Occasionally a wider leg, but as many have noted, those are tricky when you're short. The trouser cut styles seem to work the best. The only jeans I have hemmed are longer bootcut/flare styles that I want to wear with 3" heels.
