| Super Cup Tournament had field issues like the Jeff Cup. It started raining solid the night before and had 100%-90% rain in the forecast all night and well into the morning. Think they could have made a tournament postponement call earlier than 7am when most people were driving down to start the 8am games? Also, we had a 3 referee system for the abbreviated 30 minute games, but only had 1 ref show up for the championship game. |
| Is MYS so distracted by internal politics that they can't finalize schedules for their tournament in 2 weeks? They were supposed to be published on Friday. |
| Does anyone have the jeff cup schedule for this weekend? Site seems to be down |
We have our schedule |
Huh? You drunk or something or is reading hard for you. I'm going to hope you just quoted the wrong person because that makes no sense. |
My bad--there now but was not earlier. |
U-10 had a game that was 17-0 in that tournament. Obnoxious... but that's Loudoun for you. |
So the fields will be nice and torn up and unusable for the girls this weekend. |
Obnoxious and hilarious that the parents take that as a sign that their kids team is ready for the World Cup! |
Not really the winning teams fault is it? Sounds like someone is in the wrong bracket, I hate to see a thumping like that but its eitehr Tropy hunters or over eager clubs thinking they are better than they are...one downside of soccer 17-0 is demoralizing |
|
There is a lot even a rec coach can do to keep the score from being 17-0. Put some new kids in the goal to try it out, switch up the positions, put in your whole bench.
Only a real d!ck runs up the score like that in a little kid game. |
| Scheduling a tournament using grass fields the first weekend of March is foolish and greedy. Limit registrations to the turf fields you have available. |
I pity anyone who is going to have to play at FFC Park this spring. Those fields are shot. |
As another person already said, there are things a coach can do when a game starts getting out of hand like this. Letâs not forget weâre talking about u-littles here. The âsomeone is in the wrong bracketâ argument is kind of pathetic. If youâre the coach of the winning (U9/U10) team and itâs clear that the other team is seriously outmatched, tell the kids that you want them to have X passes or Y touches touches on the ball before they can shoot, for example. Sure, itâs fun to win but at that age, winning by a ridiculous margin isnât something to encourage or be proud of. |
There was only one bracket and it was second team for Loudoun playing teams they have no business playing. Why they didn't go to Arlington tournament like most everyone else is beyond me. I've heard from multiple people the coach sucks and doesn't actually coach the girls so I'm not shocked. Their closest game was 8-0 and the rest double digit wins. It's a waste of time and money driving to a tournament like that for them. Destroying other teams that bad at a developmental age is not cool either. Those other teams were not trying to go to some big name tournament they expected to get crushed at. That Loudoun team had no business being there. |
