Money and Finances
I just bought two bed pillows for $9.99 each. House decorations are not necessary. I buy toilet paper on our monthly Costco trip. |
I know. Errands to pick up a few things easily $100. Eating out is crazy, but groceries are, too!! |
Those were just examples, but there is ALWAYS something that comes up. Hate it. Some things I think are dumb and my wife wants, some things my wife thinks are dumb and I want. Some things both of us want. Yes my house is under decorated so we actually do need to buy house decorations, we're not just replacing old decorations we're filling in literally empty space since it's a newly purchased house. Just random stuff that we need... like a ball pump, knife sharpener, new socks because we haven't bought any in a few years and ours all have holes in them, t shirts are getting thin and need some new ones from target, computer is 6 years old and I need a new one, oh this month is our anniversary so now we go out to eat and blow $130 on a very average restaurant, friend who I haven't seen in a few months wants to go skiing - cool I like skiing but there goes another 100 bucks or whatever. It's just that there's something else every damn week. These small $100 things really are adding up. A lot of them are "one time" purchases but there always seems to be another "one time" purchase right around the corner. |
You go to church. Guessing you tithe 10% of your salary? |
Well yeah, if you recently bought a house and have to buy furniture and linens and things, it will feel like you are just bleeding money for a while. We are actually building this into our budget fur our next home purchase, as we know we will need some new items as we are moving from an apartment to a house, plus we are buying something with an in-law unit fur my MIL, and will need to furnish it, I including the kitchen. So we're building in about 15k for that process so that we don't have to do it piecemeal the way you are doing it. That can feel frustrating. But just remind yourself that most of this are one-time or rare purchases. Try to buy things that will last. Eventually you'll be done. |
