Because the GOP is the party of “law and order,” which is essentially the shorthand of Fran Wilhoit’s law: “Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect,” whereas the Democratic Party supports the rule of law.
So Clarence Thomas and his insurrection planning wife are above the law because they are in the in group. It doesn’t matter if Thomas sleeps with this clerk, rapes her, sells his vote or smokes meth while hearing the case: as a member of the in group, he will be protected by the GOP. |

“Can you imagine what would happen if a Black person who said ‘I hate all white people’ ended up clerking for Sotomayor? You’d never hear the end of it on Fox News. But there’s almost total silence about this.”

Because Republicans are, if not themselves racist, happy to allow it if their “side” “wins.” |

Here's some more details on what was allegedly said. It does sound like there's a decent argument that her account was hacked and she didn't send the text messages, but I still think it's gross that Thomas hired a law clerk that lived with him for a year. Plus, she went to the law school ranked 32nd in the country....which is not exactly the usual qualifications for the S Ct clerks. The Pryor clerkship is impressive but sounds like she got that job on the strength of the Thomas rec, so it's all pretty circular.
I feel like there's a probably back story behind how she got the job at Turning Point and moved in with the Thomas's after she was fired from Turning Point.... |
| The GOP continues to debase the Supreme Court. So shameful. |
TPUSA is RIFE with racism. And I'd be extremely skeptical of the "uhh umm my phone was hacked" story. |
It has probably happened. New York Times had no problem hiring someone who said 'I hate white people.' Again, the claim about this clerk is false. She was accused, but the blame has been placed elsewhere. The second circuit even investigated the judge that hired her. |
No, the blame wasn’t “placed elsewhere.” She was fired for sending racist texts, and the corrupt insurrectionist dog hired her because he’s as racist as she is. Why do you keep defending human trash? |
