These are not strong emotions that stick around more than a moment though so I doubt your spouse A is stewing on anything

Not really applicable though? The spouse who is working wants to go and can't. You haven't mentioned why you cannot go at another time with your spouse.

Op here. I'm Spouse A. I guess my view point was "well I can't enjoy it so they may as well have". Usually my schedule is a little more flexible but we just took time off for a vacation and I'm taking a day off for the travel there.

On a side note, DH and I couldn't get over how fast the reservations were gone! I think this is the first time we've tried to get in to a place like that. DH actually talked with a friend who lives in that area and they suggested that we go at 4p on Saturday and put our names on a list and then go do something else in tbe meantime. Guess it's like 2ish hours that they usually call you back. So we will see!

You lit that fire knowing exactly what you were doing. Why are you surprised?

Generally, when somebody really wants to go to a place, it’s about the dining experience, not having takeout food the next day.

My reaction: What is wrong with using the first-person to tell your story? I’d like to understand your thought process.

Mad you’re wasting $$ on a fancy restaurant you don’t care about
