It’s MAGA.

Taylor Swift is very popular with MAGA young women, especially since her football romance.

Will she sing beyond the first octave finally ?

Taylor’s true character showed in her treatment of Celine Dion . She had her back turned and snatched the award from Celines hands without eye contact or acknowledgement ignoring Celine like she was some stagehand and even then- you don’t even treat a stagehand like that .

Miley, a far better country/pop artist with better music and vocals than Taylor , treated Mariah Carey, with more class and reverence .

The Grammy awards showed how the greedy and classless are (Beyonce/Jay Z, Taylor)

Usually, the people who always harp on on how bad and awful their exes are the ones with the problem

Is childish tragic? This is some rich girl who never had anything hard happen singing about boyfriend troubles...
What’s wrong with that? Serious question. How do you decide something is worthy of a song or not? She has experiences and feelings pretty typical of being a woman, and often turns those into songs. People relate to that and enjoy it. And it’s honestly not any deeper than that.

I’m not a diehard Swiftie by any means. I’m only ever ride or die for Janet Jackson. But this is something about Taylor I can appreciate. Music does not have to be tragic or majestic or anything grand. It can be as simple as “I had a fight with my boyfriend and I want to sing about it.” Those feelings, however small or childish to you, are valid. It may not feel tragic to you, but it doesn’t have to.

I agree with this.

Also, most of the “serious” male rock stars who people consider iconic are singing about the same things. It’s weird to draw a line that love songs can only be majestic if it’s written by a man.

this has gone completely and totally off the rails, just like every single discussion about her. What a bunch of crazy people you all are!

She did say thank you, and Celine said you’re welcome. It’s in other camera angles you can see online. I’ve also heard people gripe about her not hugging Celine on stage. You can’t just go around hugging people with stiff person syndrome, so thank goodness she didn’t do that!

Easter eggs.

Um, no. You sound very angry.

I don’t hate her or her music, but I find this album of revenge distasteful.

My fave songs are Maroon and All Too Well.

Just wanted to say hi to a fellow “Maroon” fan!

Hi! I’ve played it about one million times. Haha.

It's a formula that works. And her songs speak to people b/c they are relatable.

I'm not a swiftie and I barely even know any of her songs. But, mad props to her for finding what works and doing it. And making a killing in the process.

If you don't like it, don't buy it. Easy. There are plenty of artists and albums I'm not a fan of, and it's a nonissue to me knowing they are out there somewhere.

Exactly.

And the next album will be songs all about her time dating a masculine big athletic man who kept her safe, made her look up to kiss him, and meeting his fun friends and family. A whole new woooooorld, la la la la la la laaa la. Shooting star, I’m come so far…
Yet we’re all top of our game, making millions and dealing with haters and paparazzi.

This, above, all of it. Of course some guys may date her because doing so raises their own publicity profile, and others may genuinely like her, but they all should know they'll end up as fodder. Maybe each one thinks he'll be The One and the subject of her "happy forever" album.

She's undoubtedly talented but seems to make an actual effort never to write anything that could be perceived as too deep. Now the Swifties will come for this post....

Different because she mines her dating life for pretty much everything she writes and records. Is every single Clarkson, Adele or Ballerini album centered on real-life breakups? I can't say myself, but I rather doubt it.

I don't know much about the songwriting and inspiration of these artists but Joni Mitchell's music was all about her personal life, exes, friends, etc.

This, exactly. She sings about very relatable things, and that’s ok. I’m 50 and Cruel Summer reminds me so much of my early 20s.
