How do you decide something is worthy of a song or not? She has experiences and feelings pretty typical of being a woman, and often turns those into songs. People relate to that and enjoy it. And it’s honestly not any deeper than that.

I’m not a diehard Swiftie by any means. I’m only ever ride or die for Janet Jackson. But this is something about Taylor I can appreciate. Music does not have to be tragic or majestic or anything grand. It can be as simple as “I had a fight with my boyfriend and I want to sing about it.” Those feelings, however small or childish to you, are valid. It may not feel tragic to you, but it doesn’t have to. [/quote]

This, exactly.  She sings about very relatable things, and that’s ok.  I’m 50 and Cruel Summer reminds me so much of my early 20s.  ;)[/quote]
