Mother Shows No Interest in My Life

| Yup. My mom has never shown much interest in getting to know me. It dawned on me a few years ago that she probably could not say 5 things about me that weren’t printed on my drivers license. She’s a really good grandmother so I try to give her some grace and accept our relationship for what it is. |

| My mom might ask, though she never listens. Then she will use what she heard to turn it against me. FIL does the same, so no thanks. |

| Another "me too" here. Thank god my sister and I can complain about her together but it's really unbelievable. Every conversation is the same - let mom ramble on about her life forever and then she maybe asks about the grandkids, and then the conversation is over without a single "how are you?". It's nuts. I vow to never treat my own daughters this way. |

| Oh my gosh, so many of us have the same mom. I love my mom, really, but the phone conversations are ridiculously one-sided. |
