I’m not sure how this is possible? Are all coaches volunteers? Are facilities and fields free? Is travel/hotels donated? |
Spending much more for less quality is painful no matter how rich you may be |
I’m hoping PP will respond, but as a European, I assume that the clubs are heavily supported by the multiple levels of local and big league teams. These teams sell ticket, and have the love and devotion of their entire country behind them. That’s a lot of power. This power can easily pay for these kids’ development. |
It's possible and a reality all over Europe and the world for parents not to pay thousands. Coaches are paid professionals of different levels of certifications and apprentices working on getting certified Hotels for families are not free. Your reaction of disbelief is the same reaction of disbelief when they hear how much we spend here. |
There were raffles and the cafeteria sold stuff for parents waiting for players and catered events and there were other events put on by the club and neighborhood. Not privy to all the financial workings Pay for play as a system is a cultural choice |

Guess is Alexandria? |
It may be a lot of things but not painful. Getting fired is painful. Kids soccer is not. |
I think what PP is saying is -- who pays the coaches? Fields? Money comes from somewhere. |
Ok so we do not have that here and never will. Nice story bro but not reality. |
| Try dance. Take the most expensive youth soccer team you find and times that by 5-8. |
Real. Alot of people talked about it last summer on here. |
This. I was sad about the soccer costs until I got the dance bill. |
