Cousins

Anonymous
My kids have 2 cousins much younger than them on my husband’s side of the family and none on mine because I do not have siblings.

Cousins live 3000 miles away. Husband talks to his brother on the phone and we see them every two years when we build up enough PTO to travel.

My kids only have 2 cousins (Dh's brothers kids) they are actually the exact same ages as my kids, but they live a 6 hour drive away so it's hard. We make the effort to facetime them often and see them a couple times per year.

It makes me sad because I have 6 cousins and they are still my closest relationships. My cousins and I all grew up within a 2 mile radius and we are best friends. Both of my brothers should be getting engaged within the next year and two of my cousins are getting married this summer so hopefully my kids will get more cousins in a few years, but my kids are already 6 and 3 so they' will be 6-10 years or so apart. It bums me out.

7 cousins...
The 3 oldest (DH's sister's kids) are 10+ years older and we rarely visited so they were never close.

2 boy cousins (my sister's kids) are the same age as my 2 and my son is particularly close with the older of the two, although they live across the country we visit regularly. My daughter griped when she was little that it was unfair that she didn't have a girl cousin.
Now she does have 2 girl cousins (my brothers' kids) but she was 10 when he had his first. She does enjoy time with them when we see them once a year but they *worship* her and she gets a little annoyed with the attention LOL
