Kids in AAP/ELC/CM/G&T should stop after grade 4, since they have more developed brains. |

Thank you. We need more open minded teachers. I complained to elementary school admin twice about substitutes who would stop the class after the pledge and berate the students who didn't put their hands over their hearts and recite it. One of my kids would sit quietly. I think any teacher or sub who does this should be fired. I was going to file complaints if it happened again. |
The post immediately after the op's is correct and accurate. Grow up and stop getting hurt feelings when people talk directly as adults should. |
Thank you. This is so well put. We need to stop forcing this upon kids. |
Let me guess middle age white women… |
Real Patriots don’t feel the need to proclaim their patriotism every day for show. I’m sorry you hate your country so much and what it stands for that you’ve completely missed the point of your entire education.
Please call WJLA, OP. I could use a break from the constant “rampant crime committed by woke Islamic trans terrorist migrant caravans” headlines. |
As a student it was always meaningful to me to stand for the pledge because my grandfather lost his legs in WWII and he could not stand so I felt I should. But I always felt that it was equally important that in our country, others are free to choose differently, because it’s exactly what he fought for.
It is hard to feel patriotic about this country sometimes and I don’t think all people need to feel the same and agree. |
The pledge doesn't bother me as much as everyone rising for the damn anthem at every freaking sporting event. |
Does the Governor still have his “tell on teachers” hotline for this kind of non-sensical faux outrage? |
Our APS school doesn't do the pledge daily- alert the press!!! |
Lol no because people coded ways to do mass fake reports. https://www.newsweek.com/tiktokers-launch-spa...ool-tip-line-1673779 "Ongele's website generates emails that name actual Virginia schools, then uses pop music lyrics as "evidence" of CRT content in schools. "One email generated, but not sent, by Newsweek read, "I believe Granby High School in Norfolk is teaching CRT. My son's homework said 'Motorsport do the dash, drop the top in the Lamb.'"" |
I am a teacher and I don't stand for the pledge. I also don't have an American flag in my room. I find it all very strange and creepy. Nothing bad has happened yet! |
I grew up in a western democracy. There is no such thing as a pledge of allegiance there. |
As a Christian, I don't pledge allegiance to the governments of men. |
