Yes! I didn't know anything about this show when I watched it. I thought it was a reality show about improving some family restaurant lol. The character development is fantastic.

Definitely Schitt's Creek and Ted Lasso.

flea bag for me, I watched the first episode and could not get past the breaking the fourth wall thing. then tried again a few months later and it is absolutely my fav show ever

Another vote for Schitts Creek. Hated the dumb name of it, tried watching one episode after everyone hyping it up.

Then went back to it like a year later - I was intrigued by it because they lived in a hotel, which I was doing at the time, and LOVED it.

Not directly responsive, but one amazing show that had a terrible start to the first episode is Game of Thrones. I turned it off after 15 minutes twice before finally sticking with it, and I'm so glad I did.

The opening looonng scene is dark, confusing, and with no dialogue.

Yes on offspring

Schitts Creek I could only muster one episode but everyone tells me to go back and try again

Same. When I stuck with it the 2nd time I LOVED it. You have to get through the first few episodes when they are really awful!

I think it took me to episode 3 before I was like, I have to binge all of this show immediately.

I think everyone hates the first 2 episodes. But you are so rewarded if you persevere. This show nourishes my soul.

+1 You really have no idea how warm and wonderful it is going to be when you are in that first episode.

ABSOLUTELY agree

I'd add New Girl, too - I wasn't into it for the first season, and then it became one of my favorite shows

I need to hear more about you living in a hotel!

Better call Saul

Season one iffy, final season epic.

The cinematography is such that you have to put your phone down because so much happens without dialogue.

Same with Bosch
