Dream on, baby! Consumer confidence:
Average gas price: When Trump left office: $2.38 Currently under Biden: $3.20 Cost of goods under Biden: Food prices are up 33.7% from the start of 2021, while shelter costs are up 18.7%, according to FOX Business calculations. Energy prices, meanwhile, are up 32.8%. https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/biden-touts-cooling-inflation-but-prices-are-up-sharply-from-2021 |
Why would you possibly think this? The Evangelicals, who control Trump and Johnson, want a fundamentalist religious country, and that includes the subjugation of women's rights as it pertains to the control of their own bodies. |
The economy was thriving before the pandemic because Obama left it that way for the next administration. |
When Trump left office, the US economy was in shambles, there was no demand for gas because no one was driving anywhere. So sure, I guess if you want the economy to crash again so you can buy gas for cheap, that is a thing, but I like my presidents to grow the GDP and grow jobs. |
Nice try. When Trump was in office, the price of gas remained low. it never spiked to over $5.00 like it did with Biden in office. In fact, it never even reached $3.00/gallon. |
If that happens, you'll likely survive. Life will likely go on. Political swings aren't new. The same may hold true if that doesn't happen. |
It spiked because of the economic snap back when Biden got the economy re-opened. Gas prices do not fluctuate in a vacuum. Biden didn't open the economy. Bumbling, Stumbling Dementia Joe was for lockdowns and for keeping it closed. States ruled by Democrat Party regimes remained closed as states like Florida and TX opened back up for business. In fact, because of Bidenomics the economy still continues to suffer: https://www.cnbc.com/2023/12/25/inflation-has-created-a-dark-cloud-over-how-everyday-americans-view-the-economy.html https://www.foxbusiness.com/personal-finance/americans-financial-recovery-covid Most Americans haven't bounced back and with the rise of energy, unfordable housing and skyrocketing costs of goods most Americans will be in debt for a long period of time. Bumbling, Stumbling Dementia Joe can't even put together a coherent sentence let alont any coherent policy, which is why the illegal alien crisis is in full swing. Instead of securing the borders we're literally flying people without ID's to various places around the US. https://www.commerce.senate.gov/2023/12/sen-cruz-demands-answers-from-dhs-regarding-illegal-aliens-use-of-fake-ids-for-air-travel#:~:text=%E2%80%9CWhile%20Americans%20must%20present%20an,saying%20the%20process%20%E2%80%9Ctakes%20illegal |
An anomaly. Abortion bans will be loosened. |
Uh, the lockdowns started under Trump. Biden got the vaccines out to the public and then there were no more lockdowns. This was only three years ago, but you seem to have memory-holed the whole episode. |
Why are you citing a 2023 report on inflation when by all accounts, inflation has come down and the Fed is already talking about cutting rates? Yes, inflation went up. Because Trump mismanaged COVID and the economy shut down. When it reopened under Biden, everything jumped, and it was a worldwide phenomenon. In fact, it was BECAUSE of Biden policies that it wasn't worse. How do we know? Because everywhere else in the world, it is worse. |
You mean there will be an across the board abortion ban and contraceptives will be banned as well. https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2023/04/birth-control-is-next-republicans-abortion.html Seriously, why do you think there will be a loosening of abortion bans under the GOP? Please provide any shred of evidence of that. |
| This thread is wishcasting. |
Want to clarify, it is wishcasting because orange man is going to lose. No one wants him. He lost in 2020. |
Counterpoint: BBB is actually reinvesting US tax dollars for American taxpayers and businesses to benefit - jobs, infrastructure etc - everyone "wins" from this legislation and the money going to address transportation, communications and other infrastructure that makes our country competitive. They have not "blown away" the border. Interdictions and apprehensions are up, deportations are up. If we had "open borders" that would not be the case. Why does the GOP complain about "open borders" but then fail to pass any legislation meant to address the problems that exist? I am not sure what you mean about giving away healthcare, food and education to South America, but making life tenable in other countries mitigates the need for people to migrate to the US. So it is actually money well spent if that is what is happening. Democrats don't hate deplorables. if that were the case, the Democrats would be putting money into blue states and "starving" red states. The opposite is actually happening. Red state governors are withholding federal dollars meant to alleviate poverty and child food programs, thus making for unhealthier kids who will do more poorly in school and be more likely to turn to crime or be on welfare in the future. |
