Oh my gosh, I am so sorry.

I didn't know that cats could suddenly drop dead (unless they ate poison-- that happened to our indoor/outdoor cats a few times growing up).

I would take his brother to the vet for a check up, for peace of mind. Also, I would keep on an eye on that cat and give him extra attention. Sh/e must be wondering what happened to their litter mate.
