I only refer to 1st cousins as cousins. Beyond that it’s just super extended family who you maybe send a Christmas card to or see at another extended family member’s wedding every 10 years or so.

So hooking up before marriage with a 3rd/4th cousin is ok with you but not marriage??? If so, then it seems you consider 3rd/4th cousins more friend than family.

Also If you’re married, did your check for familial ties? Either way you have enough info to do that or would you require your partner to do dna tests with you?
