Tired of "Dog Moms"

OP: don't date women with dogs if you don't like them.

I am like you...I don't want to live with animals. I never dated a man who had a dog. This should not have lasted past a 2nd date.

LOL because I am seeing ads for puppies in the midst of the replies

Dogs are not children. Having a dog does not make you a mother. Being obsessed with your fur baby is not giving maternal instincts, it's giving arrested development. I am not interested in women who make their dog the center of their universe.

I (M, 40) was dating a woman (35) who said that she and her German Shepherd are a "package deal" when we were getting serious and thinking about moving in together. I said she had to choose between me and the dog, and she chose the dog. Now she's late 30s and childless but with a giant, smelly canine.

Women, rethink your priorities if this sounds like you.

She made the right choice.

Looks like she made the better choice.

A smelly and even badly behaved dog is 100x better companion than most humans men - men are very typically smelly, badly behaved and untrainable. At least a dog won’t give you an STD or screw one of your friends or ruin your credit (not without your knowledge, anyway) or any number of other ugly things that men too frequently do.

#teamdog without question

Sounds like the only smelly dog she was willing to part with is you!

I'm a guy and nobody has ever accused me of being an emotional person...but I cried like a baby when our dog died. To those of us with dogs, they are family.

Sounds like a sociopath or a narcisisst.

And he felt compelled to post here, metaphorically wagging his finger at dog owners and giving condescending "advice" to women with dogs.

The tone of the post, and his choice to post about this at all, as if he were some fount of wisdom -- wow, he's a piece of work.

while i dont disagree with the general sentiment, asking your gf to choose between you and a pet dog is crazy behavior.

Sounds like she made the right choice. Dogs love unconditional. You aren’t good enough to have a dog.

— another man.

While I don't agree with everything in this post I definitely sign on to the Tired of "Dog Moms" sentiment. It's cringe. Just stop.

Op, if she has one pic of herself and five pics of her dog then swipe left and get on with your life. Those are usually the bbw’s too.

Wait until you start hearing about the dog grandmas. You haven’t seen anything.

Nothing beats a woman pushing a dog stroller. We’re officially losing it as a society.
