Parents bragging about not spending $$ on kids

We just don’t discuss gifts. Teaching my kids to not ask others what they got for Christmas. Maybe ppl should talk less about stuff?

It's all attention-seeking, masked in massive insecurity.

This. Please just stop sharing everything all the time. Exhausting having to hear about all of it. Gift, don’t gift, do charity work, don’t. Just please for the love of god STFU.

It’s so obnoxious when people brag about this like it is a virtue, when reality is they buy their kids things whenever they ask for them so they don’t ever have to wait for the holidays. That is even worse than spoiling your kids on holidays.

We rarely get our children any other time of year, so they do get a few modest things at the holidays. If they want something big like an IPad, they ask for money for a few holiday/birthdays and also do extra chores for cash.

However you do it, teaching kids to delay gratification is a life skill, so don’t forget to do that however works for your family. Thanks—from the Rest of Humanity

Anyone who uses social media to brag about their kids for whatever reason is a jerk. It can be obnoxious and annoying so why do it?
