Yes, they are showing their true colors in those threads.

They have a chip on their shoulder.

Our kids are at NPS, and we’ve also found parents to be a great group! Generally down to earth.

Really? I’ve heard horror stories about NPS and the queen bee wannabe moms.

Agree, plus a lot of hot Moms.

The "hot'' moms are at the publics.

You just can’t generalize. I live in MxLean and know a lot of the Moms at Potomac and I also know plenty up the street at Langley. There definitely are some super hottie Moms at BOTH schools, but on the other hand, both have some that are awful, plus a wide swath in the middle. That’s life.

That's because it's a troll post.

... and if it isn't a troll post, it's incredibly stupid. Can't imagine being so fragile as a parent
Shouldn't school choice be about the kid?

That's not the mindset when "we" attend a school.

Not in our experience.

Depends on the class, just like the kids!

To the posters who think community doesn't matter - I disagree. We moved schools a year go and one of the reasons we did was because we hated the community. And typically, when I find I don't like the parents - I also don't like the children. Community can matter a lot because your child's education is more than just learning how to read and count. School is a very social experience and if you are stuck in a place where your family doesn't jive with the community - it can be a truly miserable situation.

Burke has a friendly parent community.

You’ll find the friendliness of a school community is inversely proportional to the number of DCUM posts by parents of kids at those schools (i.e., the fewer posts you see, the nicer the families).

Lol so true! For some schools it’s clearly the admissions teams or similar for some that are always “selling” their school or squashing any small critique.

Mater Amoris Montessori. Nicest people you will ever meet. Parents cheers on other people's kids. You will find a real mix of economics among the parents from taxi drivers, UPS drivers, CEOs, doctors, lawyers. Nobody cares. It is a nice, sharing community.

DS and DD both in MS have friends who u adore. Truly good kids. Is it nuts but the rudest parents ever. Not sure how that's possible and maybe they hate me but really fake people. There kids are lovely. Really great relationships with my kids and I click with them too but damn I think the parents are stuck up and cold.

Oh my God you are gauche. Keep pretending St. Andrew's is as good as the Big 5. It is no St. Albans in the suburbs.
