Seems BIC, Deemer reached out to the top clubs and said, give me your top 4-5 kids. We applied way back in early Fall, never got a response. I know a few kids who were on AS teams got invites too.
Tough with no in person evaluations, but got to give credit to Deemer in that last year's crew was very talented. Certainly not going to make or break my kid either way.

Does anyone know the timeline for hearing back from JO?
I'm pretty sure all invites have been made. My daughter received hers in October.

Could anyone confirm this? Seems crappy to charge $100 if they know that no spots are available.
And you're correct, it would be beyond just crappy. It would be illegal.

Someone on the parent to parent page on FB said they were notified all spots were filled and no refund. AND they just submitted the application.

Sucks they are moving this way... Bottom line, they're all trying to make that cash while they can.

Is this all pertaining to girls, or to boys too?

Which FB page? There’s a page for parents?

Great resource for those going through recruiting. "Recruiting Discussion: Parent-to-Parent Women's College Lacrosse"

I posted this. It was a guess on my part, and I could be wrong. If they're still accepting applications and payments, I think it's fair to assume they have a couple of spots left.

They are done with 26s and have a few 27 spots left.

Dead? I get Juniors is the shiny new toy but UA150 has a nice track record, end of day, all of them are based on FOMO.

UA150 page you can see all the college commits by school by Grad year. The 2024s had impressive commits, which is the last year listed, 5 to Northwestern, 6 to UNC, 3 to Cuse, 2 to BC and 5 to Denver. If 21 players from 2024 committed to the top 5 ranked schools is dead, consider me with a Deathwish.

Last year, JO probably had more high end talent than UA150, but also more girls who didn't come close to belonging. Part of their problem is they allow the coaches for the event to submit 5 names for the event who are guaranteed to get in.

Very well-run event, though. Only problem is that they don't stop coaches from coaching girls on their own club. My daughter got decent playing time but she had a club teammate who was played on a team by a YJ coach who had 4 YJ attackers on it. She was an attacker; guess how much PT she got.

I’m late to the party, but BIC had a fall showcase in October. Attendees were also evaluated for their summer event. I saw instagram posts from a few girls sharing that they earned their spots for the summer a day later.

If your DD was chosen for Juniors Open, how did they notify? Email to the girl or the parents? And how quickly did you hear after submitting your application? For AS we received an email three days after the tryout and the emails went out to all tryout participants around the same time. Curious about JO since it’s more of a rolling admissions process.

We didn’t get an email. We did receive a hat in the mail with no note. So we put it in the donate pile and didn’t mention it to our daughter. The process is silly. Last I checked, sending a simple email saying, “Sorry, you weren’t selected.” has a lower incremental cost that having hats made for girls who are attending, and shipping in the mail. I run PR. They need to hire me.

^aren’t attending.

Now that UA150 invites are out, how much do you think Juniors is vs 150?

To me, being that Juniors is in NY, its nearly double the cost for us.
