UA150 vs Juniors Open

JO is hands down better. BIC is ok but its more from the social media side of things. 150 is dead now.

Is it really $100 to Apply to Juniors Open?

Dead? I get Juniors is the shiny new toy but UA150 has a nice track record, end of day, all of them are based on FOMO.

UA150 page you can see all the college commits by school by Grad year. The 2024s had impressive commits, which is the last year listed, 5 to Northwestern, 6 to UNC, 3 to Cuse, 2 to BC and 5 to Denver. If 21 players from 2024 committed to the top 5 ranked schools is dead, consider me with a Deathwish.

UA150 had college coaches coaching each team, cool swag for the players, and they do a combine for speed/agility. UA150 games are available for coaches all over the country to see online as well. Many of the top 60 players in the country attend as well. I would highly recommend UA150 and it is being held at the new Coppermine Facilities/Fields. Application are due Jan 10th.

For rising sophomores, UA150 still seems to be semi-popular, at least last year. For rising juniors, very few top players go. Fact.

As a parent of Rising Soph, I agree. I don't see us doing this twice. If she is accepted this year, we will prob either do Juniors next year is possible (hence the name) or do more prospect days.

BIC is over unless you are hand picked by Deemer which is basically all the Baltimore girls. Stick with JO. More coaches and better value as you get to see Penn and Drexel too.

Seems BIC, Deemer reached out to the top clubs and said, give me your top 4-5 kids. We applied way back in early Fall, never got a response. I know a few kids who were on AS teams got invites too.
Tough with no in person evaluations, but got to give credit to Deemer in that last year's crew was very talented. Certainly not going to make or break my kid either way.

Does anyone know the timeline for hearing back from JO?

I'm pretty sure all invites have been made. My daughter received hers in October.

Could anyone confirm this? Seems crappy to charge $100 if they know that no spots are available.

If they still have application open, and they do, then you must assume not all spots are filled. In case some have not figured this out yet, all these things are for money making purposes.

All of these showcases that don't have tryouts need to either start having tryouts or change how things are evaluated.

I posted this. It was a guess on my part, and I could be wrong. If they're still accepting applications and payments, I think it's fair to assume they have a couple of spots left.
