Why Does Bowser Have Such a Hodge Podge of Incompetent Appointees and Leaders

It’s for appointed ones and positions paying more than $150k. There is a very small pool of people who can find decent housing in a safe neighborhood with good schools on that salary. Maryland and Virginia are expensive but more affordable than the District.

Also, people who got hiring preference as DC residents have to stay in DC for the first 7 years of their job even if it pays under $150k (or quit their jobs if they move) and if they get promoted to a new role and want to use hiring preference, the clock starts again.

And then she just has this mishmash of people who, quite frankly, just aren't that good. Her attorneys also aren't impressive and seem to be tripping over themselves handling "crisis" issues such as Falcchicio, crime and the selling off of our teams. The sexual harassment scandal, crime issues and the BIG deal regarding the teams really requires a high caliber legal mind who is media savvy and quick to put out fires. There are so many options in the District, why doesn't she have good lawyers at least? Maybe they could help her pick leadership in other areas as well.

Because she herself is not very bright and is pretty incompetent. Muriel couldn't operate a hamburger stand.

The only things she's good at are installing fear in city employees if they dare cross her and giving out choice contracts to friends.

No it isn’t, it’s what happens when loyalty is your only requirement and you use cronyism to fill positions.

She’s trying to give out a choice cut to a favorite developer at the Chevy Chase library site right now.

Unfortunately, it seems her legacy will be the mayor lost to professional teams and infested DC of crime.

Bowser’s “Vision Zero”:

Crime for all!

(And pro sports teams for Virginia.)

What did everybody think was going to happen when they ran Snyder out with that thinly structured lawsuit? The rest of the billionaires are supposed to sit here and wait for their turn to get embarrassed?
