Actually, I do know their names, because they set up community events in our neighborhood, and our entire street met them. They’ve come to our annual block party the past 2 years. I saw them most recently on our neighborhood community walk set up by Charles Allen. |

OP,
Do you expect MPD officers to walk a beat on this street?
You have told DC’s police what you think of them. Why do you expect them to care about you now? Why would they bother risking everything when you only want to prosecute police officers and not criminals? You progressives did this. Now you get to live with the consequences of your actions. |
| Councilmember Matt Frumin is trying to get beat cops to patrol the commercial areas on Connecticut and Wisconsin Aves. Contact him to urge that to happen. mailto:mfrumin@dccouncil.gov |
NASS is a treasure. And before people complain, "white cops keeping blacks in line", at least one of them was black. |
If by "those people" you mean the people doing the robbing and shooting and carjacking and porch theft and stop-sign running, bring on the robocops! |

OP - democrats are the ones who destroyed “community policing.” Your party.
From the first link in OP’s post: “Community policing—also known as relationship-based policing or partnership policing—aims to engender a trusting relationship between officers and the people they’re meant to protect, two groups which, in big cities especially, can have strikingly different social, racial, and economic backgrounds. Walking the beat, engaging with residents at a personal level, is at the heart of that initiative. “If you understand the culture and you respect it, you’ll be able to police it more effectively,” said Fernando Rejón, a director for the Urban Peace Institute who helps to train law enforcement officials in community-based policing and gang intervention.” OP - starting in the late 1940s, it was unions who pushed for every police officer to have their own car. Unions made the arguments: - officers were safer in cars, - officers needed cars to chase down criminals, - officers could respond faster using cars, but: Not just any cars: police unions DEMANDED that local governments buy ONLY cars and trucks made in the USA. And why? - because it meant more money into the coffers of the Teamsters(mobsters/ Jimmy Hoffa) in Detroit. Teamster and police unions’ political contributions go 100% to: democrats. Result: the police since the 1940s have been reduced to: - a “cleanup crew” for 911 calls. Think about that: police only respond AFTER a 911 call has already been made. Most of the time, a 911 call only occurs AFTER the crime has already been made. Democrats did that. Police do not walk beats because their unions wanted officers to ride exclusively in cars (exclusively US made cars), where the officers are disconnected from the community. Prevention has dropped to near zero, as a direct result. |

Ford Foundation.
Democrat or republican? |
Did CM Frumin ever explain why he disregard the DC police request last month that he not move forward with the bike lane project because it will slow their response time? Maybe we start with that. |

Walk the beat, stop and frisk, arrest violent repeat offenders and look them up for a few decades. Make the streets safe for everyone.
|
Police unions won’t go for any of that. |
Was it republicans who were 100% behind “defund the police” ?? - or was it democrats. |
You can post that picture all you like but ultimately it's meaningless, because DC *DID NOT* defund police in any meaningful way, and certainly NOT so much that it could even remotely account for the increase in crime. If your police union is telling you otherwise, they are full of shit and they are the problem. As police officers you swear an oath to uphold law and to protect and serve your community. REGARDLESS of your police union leaders being snowflakes upset about some dumb shit painted on a pavement. |
| Friendly reminder that recall petitions for elected officials in DC can begin any time from Jan. 3. |
Sadly we can't recall the lazy do-nothing USAOs who won't prosecute violent repeat offenders - or the judges and sentencing commission who keep letting them right back out on the street to go victimize more people. Or can we...? |
