Fashion sneaker that's IN right now

Am loving my Cole Haans that look like the Soludos sneakers mentioned earlier. They clean up nicely.

I am in the market for a new pair that's under $150, comfortable and not too bulky (no platforms).

Stan Smith's were uncomfortable and super squeaky.

My leather Nike's are great but I've had them two years and I'm ready for a new pair.

Please send me ideas. I'd be happy to try Vejas if they are still cool (I don't want to get them if they are out or on their way out). My 16 year old son loves his Vejas.

PPs should realize that people who do know what’s on trend have generally spent time figuring that out too. Fashion blogs, insta, runway shows, making the time and effort to notice what people are wearing around you; whatever it is — fashion is not effortless, no matter how on trend it is to try to look effortless.

If you are trying this hard, it shows and you'll inherently never be "cool" - just thought you should know this up front.

Are you two in middle school? When you’re out of high school, you’ll realize that styles change quickly. She just doesn’t want to buy anything that’s in its way out.

Guys you are being a little silly excoriating OP. OK, yeah, she said she wanted something "still cool" - but you know she doesnt mean she expects her photo to be taken by a street style photographer.

It means she doesn't want to go spend good money to end up with last year's shoes. And whatever!

So nobody here ever wants to be ahead of a trend - just follow? Why not wear what you like and looks good on you?

Ha ha ha - I am so glad none of this comes anywhere close to mattering to me. I came to the thread as a shortcut to some good ideas because I don’t have time to do much more than that. I’m looking forward to doing my part in helping to uncool the cool.

People are busy and looking for guidance. They don't know what is even out there to find out what they like. It takes time to be ahead of trends - and knowledge. A lot of people count on someone else - an influencer, a story, DCUM (gd help them) - to help guide them through infinite choices, so among those things that happen to be stylish now you can select what you like.

Do you think Vogue exists because no one is looking for some help figuring out what to wear? Do you think influencers make money because no one is interested in their take on what looks good right now? Do you think someone who has an hour free to go roam DSW is going to come up with something better than if they started by asking people they consider their cohort what they think looks good these days?

You’re the worst. People that take the time to insult someone and make them feel bad for asking an innocent question are also never, ever “cool”. You may be a legend in your own mind, but you’re a d&ck in the real world. Also, your post is giving unattractive dork, just to let you in up front.

Comfort: Air Force Ones, Converse Chuck 70s low, any New Balance with a padded collar.

Comfort + luxe: Golden Goose. I like the leather quality and they have good cushioning, particularly the ball star with a bit of a heel slope. This could be just my posture, but I find it better than the full platform of the Chuck 70s. (Which are also nice!)

Vejas look nice, but I don't find them comfortable at all.
