Thank you |
| You could wait it you’re all better and do a valentine card instead, a few weeks from now! |
|
OP here. I did it and must thank you all for the motivation. I had always used on-line printing and did not known about Walgreens and Staples same-day photo cards. I will pick mine up tomorrow assuming it went through.
You helped me get through paralysis and also got me to mark my calendar for November 1, 2024 to make sure we have a family photo with all members' eyes opened and looking in the same direction. For this year 4 out of 5 will have to suffice. |
| Our greatest Christmas card accomplishment was investing in the time to make a mailing list and import it into Shutterfly. For 99 cents they will address, postage, and mail it. You never have to touch the card. If you’re a Costco member you get 51% off so it was cheaper than a stamp too. Of course it takes time to make the address list but once you do it once it’s relatively quick to update. |
I like writing a personal note on the cards, but this looks worth considering for those years when there's no time. |
| Our families and friends are used to getting our card the first week of Jan. I can never get it together to order cards in time for Christmas, but love to spend a day or two over our winter break signing and mailing them. While kids are signing than you notes, we are signing holiday cards. (Bonus, sometimes we can put the thank you notes in the same envelope!) It’s fine. People who love getting cards will still love them, Grinches will hate them no matter when they arrive. Thankfully I don't think we have many of the latter in our orbit. I always get a nice response from people when they arrive. |
Thank you!! Just ordered and saved so much from Shutterfly! |
Poster said that code was for Walgreens. |
| Minted and the like. You just upload your mailing list (and a photo if you want) and they print and mail for you. It's not the most personal card ever, but it's better than nothing. |
Too late for that now. But really folks most of you are either SAHM, Remote or Hybrid and this takes 2-3 hours tops. Even for really busy people like me wife. She just used CVS App on her IPhone did upload of pictures and card and hit send to nearest store then texted me buy stamps at lunch and pick up cards on way from work. Wow was that hard. She assembled putting the mailing stickers on card that night watching TV and on way to work I dropped them at Post Office. This is not climbing Mt Everest folks. And CVS has coupons. even a dual income in person couple could do this lunch break at work. Don’t want ti use work computer or iPhone do it at nearest CVS kiosk. Anyone could easily get cards done today and mailed easily |
NP- I'm interpreting that to mean they saved so much vs. Shutterfly |
+1 We're massively culling our list from people we never hear from. Why not send a card to stay on people's list? |

OP reporting back that the Walgreens cards are not quite as nice as our usuals from Minted or Shutterfly but they're fine and done! and that's what matters this year. Maybe the higher quality cardstock would have been better than the basic. The printing is fine, the clarity could be maybe a little crisper but the colors in the photos came out nice and true to the images.
Oh and they were well under $1 per card, so we saved some $ in addition to time. And there's plenty of space on the back to write a message, so in a way they're friendlier than the ones we just upload with all the addresses and have the online company mail. Thank you! |
| I meant to mention that they were ready within an hour, so that part was amazing. |
We have 3 kids, so we have a 120 person mailing list — which is not a 2 hour job. Not to mention, picking the photo or taking the photo was terrible — our kids aren’t photogenic and at least one had a complaint about almost every photo we chose |
