I'm not fancy but this seems so wrong.

That was my initial reaction too, but then I thought about how delicious racist would taste with chips. I want to try it. ( Good gluten free option for people who cannot eat toast points).

So, what do you serve with crackers then?

We used Utz and Cape Cod Original with our Ossetra over Thanksgiving and they were great! After years of eating the traditional accouterments with blini, eggs, onion etc. we wanted to try something a bit different. The potato chips were a hit!

Don’t do water crackers, OP.

If the caviar is any good, the best way to serve it is straight from the can on a plastic spoon.

one serves toast points with caviar. that is it. NOT potato chips.

This is how one of the real housewives served it.

Butter and some fancy bread (I like it with slightly sour rye or sourdough).

Caviar is salty. Chips are salty. Are you mixing up between chips & crackers? It makes sense to have low or unsalted crackers with sour cream or butter and caviar. Not chips. Definitely not chips.

Our family actually has this exact tradition every new year. Xavier and crème fraiche on potato chips! One year we got several different kinds of chips. Try that! It’s fun seeing which people like best. If I remember correctly most of us actually liked the bbq chips best (not sure of brand, maybe cape cod).

One sounds stuck in a 1950’s ad for flatware.

Crackers or white toast/white bread would work as well
Signed,
-someone who grew up eating white bread with butter and red caviar

Does white bread with butter (which tastes like cake) need caviar? I'm not sure that it does...

I don’t insist it’s the best combo, just something I grew up with therefore didn’t question. I like it!
