Does not saying Merry Christmas often you?

Anonymous

Half of my neighbors are Jewish so ever since moving to the DC area from a very Catholic European country, I have reprogrammed myself to say Happy Holidays to everyone. Takes care of everything.

Nothing about random holiday greetings of any kind offends me. However, it does "often" me when so many people can't be bothered to even glance at what they tried to type before hitting submit. I find that very oftensive.

Very catholic, Mexican. I LOVE Christmas and feel bad for how flimsy and hollow the other holidays around this time look (I’m lookin’ at you, Chanukah!) and guess what, couldn’t care less what people say!!! The words don’t matter there’s one reason for the season and love it or hate it that’s what’s up.

Reason for the season: Winter Solstice.

The Romans celebrated it on December 25, well before Jesus was born.

Don't care, it's up to whoever is hosting the party or saying the greeting. It's all good for me.

It was pretty standard to say "holiday" or use "season's greetings" before the 2000s and the supposed "war on Christmas" so I am not offended by any of it.

Ha. I do to. Assume it's a troll trying to stir things up.

+1
People who are offended by "happy holidays" because of their religion have a garbage religion. I'm happy with all festive greetings and good wishes.

Only old people care. No one under 60 cares unless they are a nut.

Happy holidays!

I prefer merry Christmas. If I know you’re not Christian I will say “have a good new year!”

The thing about happy holidays- is it too hard to figure out what holiday people celebrate or don’t? My kids teachers are Muslim so I’m giving them happy new years cards.

v

Why not wish them a happy Hanukkah?

The tree is an evergreen. Christ's tree would be a palm tree or anything but the usual evergreen that grows in north.
Not sure why a tree needs to have Christ in it or why he can't celebrate his birthday the day he was born. It's like coming to my birthday party and celebrating your own birthday because you feel left out.

This is a right wing white Christian nationalist grievance - I am Christian and am offended by right wing Christian’s making a big deal out of this .

We live in a multicultural society and liberal democracy where religion and state are separate (Thank Heavens).

I love Christmas as we celebrate fully but I am happy to say Happy Holidays to others so that it is an inclusive holiday season.
