Extremely practical gifts most people would appreciate

None of those things.

How about a gift card to their favorite store?

Apple or other brand AirTag?

My ILs gets our car detailed when they visit. They borrow our car when they are here but before they leave - they get our car detailed, fluids checked and replenished, and leave a full tank of gas for us. We are very lucky.

Yes to portable car jump-starter; most have usb and other outlets too so they are useful in power outages.

The ikea tool kit is also a great idea.

A steam cleaner thing for a microwave

The Oxo Y-shaped peeler or 3-piece silicone spatula/scraper set

A variety of tape: duct, painters, scotch, washi, magnetic, and double-sided mounting

Magic eraser sheets and Shout wipes

A food item, though not everyone likes the same things so this can be risky. But something like a nice selection of chocolate bars can be enjoyed, regifted, used in recipes...

Gift card to a place lots of people shop (grocery store, target, amazon)

This list is the first I’ve ever heard of the IKEA toolkit but I will be checking it out as a gift.

These are great. Even the dull ones. That's the point.

Decorative items for the home! You can get really nice stuff at Home Goods and Ross!

REALLY good towels. This is one of the most appreciated gifts I’ve given. They get used every day and bring a little luxury!

Um, no. Decorative is the opposite of practical. And please, please do not bring that Ross junk into my house! NO RAY DUNN!
