This. I have found them funny sometimes, but that cold open was deplorable. I tend to vote democrat, but I thought Stefanik was amazing at the hearing and I was disgusted to see SNL mock her and make her seem worse that the University presidents. I hate Trump, but I don't care if Stefanik is tight with him. We needed someone like her to read those jerks the riot act.
You mean though, woman who is continually photographed and associates with Nick Fuentes known and proud anti-semite? You've got to be kidding me

But SNL is very very left, so you should have expected such nonsense, which is why most people I know stopped watching it a long time ago. Not fun, not clever and I don't like politics with my comedy.

The current SNL cast is just awful. I hope it just a temporary ebb. When SNL is good, it is SO good. And it’s a valuable part of the political discourse. It surfaced some important ideas during Trump years, for instance.

I truly can't figure out why anybody is still watching it. Not me.

Why do the actors go along with these cringe, demeaning stereotypes that aren't even funny at all? It feels like SNL is running a Hispanic minstrel show at this point. So gross.

Marcello likely wrote or co-wrote his bit on Weekend Update. His stand-up includes a lot of Latino references. It’s who he is, and it obviously doesn’t offend him.

DP and I assume Marcelo writes these bits but it seems like all he writes are stereotypical Latino roles. I hope he has more in his bag of tricks because it is a bit one note.

Adam Sandler made a career out of being a one-note goofball who made silly sounds using a silly voice.

I want the politics. “Most people you know” is probably five MAGAs who never watched it anyway.

Then you are ignorant about the topic of the discussion - last night’s episode.

Not really. I've read this thread and seen news stories on how many people are outraged by last night's episode. Also, the topic of this thread is how is this show still on the air. I wonder that myself every time I see people discussing it. So I'm right on target with the thread topic.

I started watching SNL in it's first season so I'd say I have some idea what I'm talking about. It has deteriorated so much that I literally can't stand to watch it at all anymore. It used to be funny.

I'm in my 60s. That my be SOOOO old for you but I'm doing fine, thanks. Also, maybe you aren't aware that people of all ages have opinions and age doesn't determine whether they are valid or not. That would be ageism.

You may have also noticed that I am among the majority on this thread which is people who don't like SNL.
