His hand-and-money backed candidates were, as was his dumb “compromise” on abortion. He staked his political future on the race and lost. Bigly. |
So you're stating that Youngkin is now toast? Lets see you promise that. |
| Who is "Aviva Klompas" and why don't they know how to correctly transliterate the name of the holiday into English? |
Governors in Virginia serve for 1 term. He's done. |
Read the article. The rabbi that asked said they would have been ok with simple 'no'. Instead the event organizer said they could have it if they had an Islamic display (what that would be is anyone's guess) or light the menorah under a "Cease Fire" banner. Than the organizer claimed she had 'no idea' about a war raging and just 'thought it was a good idea'. They shouldn't be forced to have it, but for pete's sake, own that the response was political and demanded that the rabbi take sides. |
Yes it is. It’s not the most religiously significant but it is celebrated by most American Jewish families with a lot of fondness for the younger kids especially. |
| If you want a menorah lighting plan your own. Don't try to force this event to have a religious display. |
Didn't know he was running. NP |
Youngkin's political career is toast, yes. Best he can hope for is some cabinet official after 2028, if a Republican wins. But he's not going to be able to beat Warner or Kaine in the Senate. He can't run for governor again. He blew his political capital on an election that was supposed to jumpstart his presidential ambitions but fell flat on his face. No one takes him seriously. |
+1 Absolutely taking sides. Idiots. |
Sure, whatever you say. Plenty of us think Youngkin has been doing a great job - with no more or less “hiccups” than his predecessor. DP |
DP. You certainly don’t know many Republicans if you actually believe this nonsense. |
Spoken like a true LWNJ. He isn’t forcing anyone to do anything. He is simply stating that now is a perfect time to show support to the Jewish community. And if you’ll notice, several VA Democrats supported this too. |
Um - wut? It’s not Yom Kippur or Rosh Hashanah, but of course it’s significant, you utter dope. - a Jew |
