| OP, tween mom here and appreciate the link! I think it is a super cute, on trend and tasteful choice. Hope your DD feels great in it and has a good time. |
There were 50+ pics on Lulus of real life people wearing the dress. 1, its cheap looking and 2, the cutout and back hanging out is not appropriate for a religious ceremony. Its like a mullet dress... unfortunate business in the front and party in the back. |

| Never been to a bar/bat? You wear a light sweater in the service and take it off when you walk into the party. |
Ok that's pretty awful |
Wow. |
| Aside from the rude and u confrontational replies, I as a bat mitzvah mom found this helpful. I didn’t even know about bodycon (con=constricting?) or skater dresses, and my daughter hasn’t mentioned those words, but I’m sure she can spot them and it will be helpful to name them. And helpful to apply these filters. So thank you, and sorry to OP that people don’t know how to “if you can’t say something nice…” about her daughter and this exciting ceremony. |
Thank you! Glad you found it helpful. |

Thanks OP.
Your original message gave me some terms to search for in finding some much needed dresses for my young teen DD as well. |
No good deed goes unpunished. It would have added to the variety had I seen any girls wearing a similar dress at the last bar/bar mitzvah I attended. I live in manhattan, so I know exactly what you are talking about. So nice that you and your daughter enjoyed picking out a dress. I have two sons, so I have to content myself to picking out fun socks and pajamas! |
Posters in this thread are going to hate these, but I like them. And my DD would also, FWIW. |
The tail wagging the dog. |
No I like these! Especially the last one. |
No it's not making a big deal about something that's not. The hosts want somethings better? They should mention it in the invite. |
