Chiclets

Gum of any kind but especially double bubble and rainblow

Black and orange square shaped crinkley see thry packs that had black and orange cinnamon hot circle candies

Candy corn in the same packages above
3 peices to a pack

SweeTarts in paper packages 3 to a pack

Rectangle taffy on a stick. I remember the flavors were vanilla strawbeeey chocolate and banana

Slim Jim taffy. Paper wrapper I remember green apple flavors kinda like a now n layer but chewy

What am I missing?

BBBatts were the best. I would give $100 if someone could let me know where they are still sold. The strawberry are legit amazing.

Remember those disgusting taffies that were black and orange? Some things are better left in the past.

Oh I loved those!! They had a weird peanut butter flavor.

I hunted down some of these to give out a few years ago - kids were NOT impressed so I never bothered again! Remember, this is our nostaglia, not theirs.

Ps- My “nut free” candy bag assortment from Giant this year has lemonheads, chuckles and charleston chews in it. The chuckles are ONE per wrapper - I remember getting all the flavors in a pack as a kid!

Peanut Butter Kisses. The worst. Right up there with Bit o'Honey and Charleston Chews.

I loved these, like PP, but ky mom would confiscate because she was worried they were too easy to insert razorblades or poison into bc they could be unwrapped and re-wrapped (those were concerns in late 70s/early 80s trick or treating!)

I am so glad no one gives out Raisenettes anymore! I hated getting those.

There was a 100 Grand candy bar that had peanuts, chocolate, and caramel. Is that what you're thinking of?

They were originally called $100,000 then changed to 100 Grand in the 80’s so both correct

Yes! It was my fave.

100 grand does not have peanuts it has crunch bar bits like a crunch/krackel bar.

to add to the list:

nerds (still around but not as abundant)
pixie sticks
fun dip
bit o honey
almond joy and mounds
butterfingers
baby ruth
crunch
weird flavored tootsie rolls like cherry, orange, and vanilla
sweet tarts
blow pops (only get tootsie pops now) and gum in general
sugar babies
sugar daddies
red hots
warheads
fireballs

Were there Coke flavored tootsie rolls at some point? I feel like I'm remembering that.

I don't miss a lot of these old fashioned candies. I never like the Caramel Creams (Bulls eyes?). Or any black licorice candies like Good & Plenty. Circus Peanuts. Necco Wafers. Although I do like all the tootsie rolls and the Brach's milk maid royals.

Popcorn balls wrapped in orange or black paper.
