Then what do you call all the majority white colleges that also have low scores? We'll wait. |
Not sure how much you can help someone with an 800 SAT and 2.9 GPA. That’s not college material, and half the class scored lower. |
Perhaps the Georgetown reference was to Georgetown College in Kentucky? |
Thinking the same. SVA as well. |
Tuskegee? SCAD? Wow. Ignorant about multiple types of schools. Most people aren’t so open about their ignorance. |
No, Georgetown was explicitly linked to DC. PP is just a troll. No modestly informed adult (or even a teenager) would believe Georgetown has a 45% graduation rate. |
Claflin is also an HBCU. |
Wheelock College closed in 2018. The campus is now part of Boston University. They are using outdated information. |
PP already questioned that and OP already queried the validity of first ranking as dubious except for some of the considerations raised about what makes school not worth the hefty tuition costs. OP made it clear that the second ranking was the more valid one. The point was to think about what contributes to low graduation rates and bad colleges in general . |
Interesting since it was published this month! |
What is Purdue University Global? How is High Point not on this list? |
Wesley College doesn’t operate on its own anymore, either. It was acquired by Delaware State a couple years ago.
This list is absolute garbage |
Cornell is missing! |
Lots of HBCUs have an outreach/community service component to their mission to help support/uplift others who have fewer opportunities. If they're bringing in under-prepared students to help them, that will show up in their statistics. But it doesn't mean the quality is lower, just that they can accept and accommodate a wider range of students. |
In light of several posters point out basic info that’s wrong with this ranking, I hope people can let this group’s ranking go. They clearly aren’t reputable as a source.
And I can’t believe I have to say this, but Trump University wasn’t a university. It was a business seminar like what shady real estate investors give at hotels. That’s how it really started - a guy with a hotel seminar paid Trump to use his name. No degrees. I thought people were smarter than this. |
