Great suggestion. I also like the name Leeve (l just made up the spelling - have seen it as Liv) |
| Love it, but prefer the Niamh spelling. FWIW, I know a family right from Ireland that spells their daughter's name Neeve. |

Neve in English would be pronounced as Neev... The "e" at the end changes the sound eh to ee.
I think some of this depends on your last name. If it's Spanish, people might be more likely to pronounce it the Spanish way. An English last name would probably be pronounced correctly. I think it's pretty! And so what if it's occasionally mispronounced! It's easy to spell. We're a global society and lots of people have names that people need help pronouncing, there's no shame in it. |
You'd name a baby girl "Leeve" as in "Leave"?? |
Ugh. So many people don’t understand English grammar. Neve is not pronounced like Neeve. If you want that pronunciation, you should spell it accordingly. |
| I have a Neve, pronounced like Neev - I like the name but could not do Niamh to a child not living in Ireland. It's a correct once situation usually and half the time people are right the first time. If you care about correcting people, choose a different name. |
