We are fighting human animals and we are acting accordingly."

The Hamas war crimes are indefensible. There is no question about it. But, for people likening it to 9/11 can you imagine if President Bush had lumped in innocent civilians with terrorists in such a derogatory matter?

The UN reported earlier this year that 60% of Palestinians were in need of humanitarian assistance and now they just cut off funding. Maybe Israel come to reason and allow food drops, or allow women and children to leave (which I don't know if I could do since I have teenage boys).

This is all so deeply upsetting. That more lives will be lost is heartbreaking.

Egypt can open the border at any time. It is horrible that innocent Palestinians will die as a result of Hamas's mass war crimes, but Israel has warned them to evacuate and allowed for safe passage to shelters. Our pressure should be on Egypt to lift their blockade and help find the Israeli hostages, including many children who saw their parents tortured in front of them.

According to the UN the vast majority of Palestinians have not been able to freely move. Blaming a million+ people who need humanitarian aid for not getting out is repulsive. Do you know anything about Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs?

ALL innocent people should be saved.

How innocent are they? They are a small area and voted for this extremism. Not the US where New York voted for something and we are concerned about the people wanting something different living in Alaska. I'm sure many if not most of these families supported this approach. I saw them in the streets cheering.

Why would they want to come here? They want their homeland, they just don't want to compromise.

They’ve lived there for like 50 years. They are Egyptian, the West Bank residents are Jordanian. There is no Palestinian ancient homeland.

This is total and complete propaganda that people tell themselves to justify stealing land. This is like saying native Americans no longer have a homeland.

There is no way the people of that area are not supporting Hamas. Show me a poll that says they do not.

It is fact. Palestine is the name that the Romans gave to the land when it expelled THE JEWS after the destruction of the second temple.

Just like there is no Inuit homeland. No Aborigines homeland. No Cherokee , Choctaw, Navajo, Sioux, Blackfoot, Seminole, or Iroquois homelands. NOT.

Umm is your argument that Palestinians have only had a claim on the land for 2,000 years?

You think they should support Israel? As of august this year, Israel has killed over 200 Palestinians. How would Israel respond to an outside force killing 200 Israelis?

Nice try. My facts are that Palestinians are Egyptian and Jordanian and these particular groups were no where near Israel during the second temple. The Romans expelled the Jewish people from their homeland and renamed it Palestine to torture the Jews (in honor of the philistines) in 70AD. Islam was founded in 600AD.

The implicit is now explicit. It has always been heavily implied that Israeli civilians are more important than Palestinian civilians, but it seems that the Israelis are now willing to say it out loud.

Yes yes they are.

“What we will do to them in the coming days will reverberate with them for generations.”

I read this quote and it was clear he was talking to IDF troops about fighting Hamas militants. I agree we need a specific word for humans who make the behavioral choices we saw this weekend. We needed one for Isis, we need one now. Do you have a better suggestion than "human animal"?

His actions are now being considered a war crime by Human Rights Watch.

You mean his words. On the scale of war crimes...

His actions, since Gaza is in fact under siege.

You haven't thought through this, have you? You think bringing 2 million fundamentalist terrorism supporting hate filled people will magically turn them into Democratic sycophants? Because, you know, "people of color" and all that, right?

I am actually Egyptian American and neither Gazans nor Palestinians in general have ever been considered Egyptian. Ever. They do not speak the same Arabic dialect as Egyptians, as people of the Levant they tend to be lighter skinned, Palestinian Christians are a different denomination of Christianity, their foods are different, they have different traditions. They are their own people and have lived continuously in what is known as Israel for thousands of years. They are indeed an indigenous group.

Yes, Jews lived in Jerusalem and the West Bank. Jesus was a Jew from Bethlehem, remember? And then the Romans, and then the Christians, and then the Muslims (who allowed Jews to return and pray as they once did!).

Gaza has no religious significance to Judaism. Israel rightfully took it as a strategic move during the 6 day war when every Arab neighbor tried to destroy the country. Left it completely in 2005 and they have been self governed ever since. Gaza shares a border with Egypt and the people can move freely. Many work and go to school in Israel proper.
