I don’t think this is good advice for 9th grade boys. Many need handholding with accountability each day. Just make a short meeting where you discuss what is due during the next few days, create a checklist and go online together to check that everything has been turned in. Once you see that they are accomplishing the tasks before each meeting, switch to every other day and then once a week. - HS teacher
