I read an article before the World Cup that a bunch of the Spanish female players had turned down spots in protest over coaching practices or something like that. Can someone tell me how the peole involved in that controversy relate to the men here?
It all seems so toxic. I did a short study abroad thing in Spain in the 80s and didn’t like it because there was so much sexism. But now watching a lot of Spanish TV, I’m struck by how progressive the themes are and all the string female characters. I wonder if there’s a disconnect in Spanish society. |
So the 15 players wanted the coach Vilda removed. The players were disappointing with the result in the UEFA Women's Euro 2022 and Vilda's coaching style/his treatment of players. Vilda had been coaching many of the players from u17s national team and up. Rubiales support Vilda and the 15 players were kicked to curb. During his crazy I will not resign speech, Rubiales pointed the Vilda and said they came for you but I stopped that. All the other Spanish women coaches resigned after the speech but Vilda stayed on. |
