This question makes me feel good about my life choices - the guy was a total sweetheart and is successful and normal, we're still in touch, and his wife is cool. DH is a better fit for me, but my life wouldn't have been awful with him.
I miss my first job. The industry changed a lot due to technology and just isn't what it was. But as it was then, it was fun, I met the MOST interesting people, I learned a lot about a broad array of other fields, and once I learned it and got good at it, I was able to go home at the end of the day without much hanging over my head. It was a good time. |
| This is a “do you walk to school or take a lunch?” nonsensical question. |

#1. While he undoubtedly would have cheated on me, at least I would have had a life of wealth and incredible sex.
First job before law school was a paralegal. No thanks. |
| I’d rather work at my first job the rest of my life. The first guy I had sex with was a big ol cheater. We’re 40 and he has kids with 3 different women, and almost definitely cheated on his now ex wife with one of his baby mamas. My first “real job” was kind of dead end and boring, but relatively stable. |
| Ugh, neither. |
Such happy people on this board |
Yes, considering most of us probably had some kind of retail or food service job as a real first job, this makes no sense. |
|
Marry the person I lost my virginity to.
My first job was working in a small children's clothing boutique. I was in high school at the time and it closed a few years after I left for college. |
The first job you ever had was as a paralegal? #privileged |
Maybe just skip the question next time. |
I’m perfectly happy. I just think it’s a really stupid question. Most people lose their virginity young and often not under ideal circumstances and their first job is usually shitty. |
Maybe go screw yourself. OP asked a stupid question that’s likely to bring up a lot of unhappy memories for a lot of people. Which many of the responses have confirmed. |
| It's weird that some people are interpreting the "first job" as "first professional job after college/professional training/grad school" and others are interpreting first job as "worked weekends at McDonald's when I was 15." |
| Lifeguards actually make pretty good money since the Covid shortages! Definitely that over my first ex. |
Why? First job means first job. That means the McDonald’s at 15. |
